For Escentric Molecules Escentric 05, perfumer Geza Schoen was inspired by the association with the summer he recognized in the cashmeran aroma molecule. As he puts it himself: 'I wanted to evoke the feeling of a day at the sea, but not with the usual marine notes that I find too artificial. Instead, I wanted to create the experience of an island in the Mediterranean, like an island where I spent many summers. What strikes you when you walk the path from the sea is how the heat changes plants and trees: their scent becomes dry, resinous and aromatic.' And he certainly succeeded with Escentric 05!

The top of the perfume is very simple: bergamot gives a light note, orange adds cheerfulness and vibrancy. The heart consists of spicy-fresh bay leaves and rosemary, juniper berries for a spicy touch and cypress for a dry woody note. The base consists of three classic Mediterranean ingredients: cistus labdanum (a small plant) that has a sweet, leathery and balsamic fragrance. Mastic (a resin from a small tree) that has a pure sharp scent from freshly pruned branches and finally a subtle fig note. The perfume contains 15% cashmeran, which gives the fragrance a pine-like warmth. It's always summer with Escentric 05!

The Escentric Molecules scents come in three types of packaging:
- 100 ml - the full size. This is the most economical packaging. Because no separate sealing cap has been added, this size is not very convenient to take with you on a trip.
- 30 ml - the cased travel spray. This is not just any travel package: the fragrance is safely packed in a luxurious metal box. Each fragrance/box has its own color code in an intense metallic shade.
- 30 ml - the refill travel spray. This is the refill for the portable travel packaging. It is a spray that can be used 'normally' but, like the full size, does not have a separate sealing cap.

  De topnoot van Escentric 05 is heel eenvoudig: bergamot voor een lichte noot en sinaasappel, een ingrediënt dat voor een emotioneel accent zorgt, levendig en vrolijk. Dit weerspiegelt de sinaasappelboomgaarden die over het hele eiland te vinden zijn. Laurier en rozemarijn zijn typische mediterrane planten met een pittige frisheid, jeneverbes zorgt voor een kruidige toets en cipres is een heel droog, krachtig hout.

  De basis bestaat uit twee klassieke mediterrane ingrediënten: cistus labdanum en mastiek. Mastiek is een hars afkomstig van een kleine boom die vooral nabij de zee groeit. Het heeft de pure scherpe geur van pas gesnoeide takken. Cistus is een klein plantje dat overal rond de Middellandse Zee voorkomt. Het heeft een zoete, leerachtige, balsemachtige geur die ik heerlijk vind. En uiteraard bevat het parfum ongeveer 15% Cashmeran, wat de geur zijn dennenachtige warmte geeft.

  Ook is een subtiele vijgnoot toegevoegd, gebruikmakend van zowel de bitterheid van de bladeren als de rijpheid van de vrucht. Vijgen mochten niet ontbreken, omdat er een vijgenboom bij ons huis op het eiland staat. Daarom voelt vijg authentiek aan, het doet de parfumeur van deze nieuwste creatie denken aan die fijne zomerse dagen aan zee.
